Mission

The mission of FANGOR Foundation is to preserve and promote the art and legacy of Wojciech Fangor. Through exhibitions, publications, research and educational programmes, we aim to popularize knowledge of the artist’s life and a broader understanding of his work. We support initiatives of cultural institutions, academics, curators and artists that build reflection on Fangor’s art, which transcends disciplinary conventions – engaging social, scientific, political, ecological and urban spaces.

Our aim is to highlight the importance of Fangor’s contribution in the contemporary art, both in historical and present context. The Foundation disseminates Fangor’s artistic and intellectual oeuvre by taking part in Polish, as well as international research projects, by collecting, compiling and sharing its resources. In 2015, FANGOR Foundation launched an ongoing research programme on the creation of Wojciech Fangor’s Catalogue Raisonné. In 2020, it donated the Wojciech Fangor Archive to the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

FANGOR Foundation focuses on preservation of the authenticity and integrity of the artist’s material heritage for future generations. We cooperate with museums, galleries and collectors to ensure the best possible access to Wojciech Fangor’s artworks, both in Poland and abroad.
