Library
The book collection comprises a diverse range of publications that were present in the last home of Wojciech and Magdalena Fangor in Błędów. Due to his emigration from 1961 to 1999, the library cannot fully represent Fangor’s reading interests. Rather functioning as an appendix to his oeuvre, it delineates the cultural and intellectual foundations of Fangor’s work, as well as the wide range of his interests beyond the visual arts. The library contains both books from his family home and youth – those that remained in Poland – as well as publications that accompanied Fangor during nearly 40 years of travels across Europe and the United States. The final shape of the collection, brought back to the Poland and evolving with each subsequent relocation, constitutes a curated summary of the migration period and the development of his artistic output.
The library is organized into thematic sections, within which publications are arranged alphabetically by author and then chronologically by year of publication. Publications such as exhibition catalogs or magazines, which do not list an individual author, are located at the end of each section.
