Earlier this month mosaics designed by Wojciech Fangor in early ’60 were listed in the register of Masovian District Monuments in Poland. The works including 52 ceiling mosaics located above three train platforms and 27 wall mosaics located along platforms, in the waiting areas and walkways are integral part of the underground commuter railroad station Warszawa-Śródmieście.
This is a second listing of Wojciech Fangor works in the Monuments Register this year. Earlier this year the ceiling painting „Pleiades” located in Fangor’s family home near Warsaw and painted in 1943 was also listed.
